What To Bring
The following information is for those who
have been accepted on the meditation course:
Items to bring to the centre
Please note: Students are
asked not to bring to the course any personal
food, mobile phones, pagers, laptop computers, PDAs, MP3 players,
reading or writing materials.
The items that have been listed below cover
all seasons. Please bring items appropriate for the season.
Rain-gear is always advisable.
Bedding
We provide one duvet, one pillow and two
blankets per bed, please bring a sheet, pillowcase and duvet
cover with you.
Meditation cushions
Meditation cushions and blankets are provided
but you may also bring your own.
Clothing
Bring enough clothing for the duration of
your stay. All students should observe the rules for modest
dress as outlined in the Code of Discipline. Shorts, tank
tops, transparent, tight or revealing clothing, etc. are not
permitted. Tights or leggings should be worn only under a
knee length top or skirt/dress.
- Jacket
- Raingear - raincoat, umbrella
- Warm hat, mitts, socks
- Sweaters and/or shawls
- Boots
- House slippers and/or quiet slip-on shoes
are useful inside
Toiletries
For the comfort of the other students, please
do not bring any perfumes or scented creams, powders, shaving
lotions, etc.
- Towel
- Toothbrush and toothpaste
- Bath soap
- Unscented deodorant
- Shampoo
- Shaving/Sanitary supplies
Other items you may find useful
- Small travel alarm clock
- Torch (with extra batteries)
- Drinking water bottle
- Thermos flask for hot water
